Children & Youth
The May and Stanley Smith Charitable Trust seeks to foster healthy development and future independence by increasing opportunities for children and youth (ages 0-25). Among the programs of greatest interest to the Trust are those offering direct services to disadvantaged children and youth such as:
- Academic enrichment and support, college access programs
- Tuition assistance through scholarship organizations and funding alliances*
- Mentoring and youth leadership programs
- Arts outreach programs integrated with school curriculum
- Career development and job skills training programs
- Programs serving abandoned, abused, and neglected children
- Recreational programs and camps incorporating youth development objectives
* The Trust does not make grants directly to schools, except those receiving 25% or less of total revenue from families, or those whose entire student body is disabled.
